The Game Basics:
To set up the game  place 32 marbles on the  board leaving the center spot open.
To play one person solitary:  Begin by jumping a marble once you jump a marble place that marble in the outside ring.
You may not jump diagonally.
The objective is to end up with only one marble left on the board, if more than one marble is left on the board sorry you lose.

Multi Person Play:

To set up the game  place 32 marbles on the  board leaving the center spot open.
Each player takes a turn jumping a marble the last person to have a jump wins.

Fox and Geese is a fun multiplayer game:

You need 18 marbles on of a different color  (I include a different color marble for this game)
Set the board up as pictured:

The fox wants to eliminate as may geese as possible and the geese want to trap the fox.

The fox is allowed to move in any direction forward, backwards sideways and diagonally.  The fox may jump consecutively the  Jumped geese are  removed from the board.

The geese cannot move backwards but the can move forwards sideways and diagonally.

If the fox makes it past the geese to the other end or captures all the geese the fox wins.

Some rule variations to try:

Play with 13 geese this was the original version.
The geese can only move diagonally and forwards, not sideways or backwards
The geese can move in any direction
If the fox has an opportunity to jump a goose it must  failure to jump a goose  will result in a goose being added back on the board.
The geese move first.
Geese may not jump.
