White Shaker Peg Racks - Solid Maple Construction - Made in the USA

Features

Our solid color shaker peg racks are now available in Solid bright paper white high-quality hand rubbed satin lacquer finish.

Constructed from solid North American hardwoods either Poplar or Maple. If you have a preference, please let us know. Peg spacing is 6 inches on center and the pegs extend 3 inches from the rail. The hardwood rails are three quarters of an inch thick.

You have the option of either the standard 3.5 inch wide or the more substantial 4.5 inch wide rails. The matching hardwood shaker peg extend 3 inches from the rail and are spaced at 6 inch intervals.

If you would like we would be happy to create a custom size, or even a custom peg arrangement for you.

It seems I have had Shaker peg racks from Peg and Rail for perhaps a couple of decades. For sure, I first had natural-colored ones when I lived in an apartment. So easy to install and not damage the landlord's walls. And now I have many white ones in my small home. They are beautiful. I could find no similar ones with as good of quality and looks in local stores or on-line sources. They serve many purposes. The greatest, most recent additions have been 5-foot ones on the bedroom walls near the hallway where the washer and dryer are stacked. This way, I can hang clothes that are not completely dry on the racks, letting them finish drying and saving a little energy. And I can hang clothes there for regular purposes, too. If anyone ever asks me for a source of peg racks, I will heartily point them to Peg and Rail.

Love My New White Shaker Peg Rack!

I absolutely love my new white shaker peg rack. I just moved into a new apartment that did not have a coat closet. I hung my rack near the front entry door. I hang my purse, keys and jacket on my rack. All my daily use items now have a home. My new rack keeps everything nice and organized. The rack is well built and attractive. It looks great in my new apartment. Thank you!

My pegs are great. They are well crafted and easy to hang. My have them hung in a bathroom for towels and in our master closet for robes and slightly worn clothes. So far they are sturdy and very functional.

I love it

Our old New England house has very limited closet space and I needed, immediately, a place to hang my clothes. Ed was SOOO responsive to my needs and made accommodations to ship my chosen Shaker Peg Rack the same day I ordered it; I was fortunate he was able to do that for me that day! It was not a special order item and gratefully and it arrived very quickly. It was easy to hang up and it works wonderfully. The quality is just super and I am so happy with my whole experience!

Prior to ordering, I located the studs in the wall where the peg rail was going to be installed. I contacted Ed and he was able to pre-drill the holes accordingly. It worked out great. Great peg rack!

We moved into a house that already had a peg rack and I wanted to add a 2nd which was at the right level for my small kids to access for bags, coats, etc. Peg and Rail had great options and then allowed customization to fit within the space. They were super easy to work with and the rack complements our old rail very nicely.

I ordered a second 10-peg rail from Peg and Rail I love the original one so much. It’s lovely without clothes hanging on the pegs and it’s wonderfully orderly when it’s full of coats or jackets and miscellaneous things. The painted wood makes it appear to pop out of the wall as though part of the wall, and that’s a detail I especially love. Square edges adds to the clean look. Thanks, Ed.

Handcrafted beauty

Not really much more cost than something from Target, but so much more in terms of quality, workmanship and loveliness. I will say there was a slight odor of paint on opening the shipping box. If you are sensitive to that, just keep it in the basement/garage/sunroom for a few days and you'll be good to go. Very pleased with this purchase. Thank you!

Q: We want a white Shaker peg rack with cove edge across a long wall with irregular stud placements. The total distance is 87 inches. Our studs vary from 13 to 19 inches apart. If we provide the distance and spacing for the keyhole cuts, can you either make a one piece rack; or cut two sections that can be joined cleanly and continue the cove edge? What would be the cost? Thanks for your assistance.

Thank you for the question.

We can do a 87" in one piece. Up to 96 we can make them longer but shipping is an issue.

If you give me the stud locations, yes we can put the keyholes to match your studs.
The best way is to give mall the locations from the left edge as your looking at the wall.
for example 4" from left then 20" 36" 48" ect.

Plan on 4 or 5 days to get it made.

The product is T77W20 Made by Sherwin Williams it is a lacquer but I am sure Sherwin Williams can mix a paint to match it.

Q: How are the pegs fastened to the board? I just threw out a peg rack (made in China) which used screws to hold the pegs to the board and one peg had been reglued many times.

A: Hello

Thanks for the question, The pegs have a tapered tenon that is a press fit in a ½” hole in the rail, I use a high quality wood glue “Titebond” as added strength. I do have complaints about the pegs falling out; if I did I would look at alternative methods of attaching the pegs.

Q: I need this to install on a plaster wall to hang coats. Which mounting method would be stronger?

A: When installing on a lathe and plaster wall without locating the studs. The best solution is to use the button plug mounting and utilize an 1/8" toggle bolt. The toggle bolt needs to be long enough to open up behind the lathe.
