Like everything about the coat rack I ordered except that the back is not stained at all and some portions of the sides are not completely covered. Had I known that the whole piece was not going to be stained, I would have requested it, even if it meant paying a bit more. (Though it would never occur to me to ask for the entire piece to be stained--for a custom or even semi-custom made piece.) Piece is nice but the staining detracts from its quality. Hello Jill Thank you for the review. I apologize that your coat rack was not stained to your satisfaction. I am concerned that your coat rack is missing some stain on the edges? That should not be. Staining the back /areas that are not meant to be seen is something that is not typically done. Staining the back would add a day to the manufacturing time plus greatly increase the cost. Do you have a special case that makes staining and clear coating the back necessary? I would be happy to make you a new rail stained to your specifications, if you would like. You could transfer the hooks from the old rail to the new one. Let me know thanks Ed

This is worth every penny that I paid. Very well made, and I love how it is mounted into the studs and you don't see the screws.

We bought this coat rack for my mother's 93rd birthday. I spent considerable time searching, and found most well known websites were producing garbage. We were looking for a rack that was made as well as my father would have, were he still here. Thank you Ed, the rack is beautiful. My mom will truly appreciated the solid oak, the solid brass, and the expert workmanship.
